What does your Dental Checkup include? – NEW 2025 PACKAGE!

With February just around the corner, we’re excited to introduce our new dental checkup plan designed especially for our clients traveling from afar, offering them a more affordable and comprehensive option. Last year, our dental checkups included x-rays, cleanings, and professional recommendations, with any follow-up treatments incurring an additional charge. This year, we’ve enhanced our plan to include even more value at an incredible price. However, for those who prefer the previous package, it will still be available. Our priority is to provide the best care for our patients, ensuring high-quality service at affordable prices delivered by skilled professionals.

Dental Checkup additions:

  • Examination
  • X-ray
  • Cleaning
  • Screening
  • Composite bonding for 60 USD.

Examination:

The examination is a thorough evaluation of your oral health, aimed at identifying potential issues such as tooth decay, gum disease, jaw abnormalities, or other conditions that may affect your oral well-being. It includes a visual inspection, and in some cases, X-rays may be necessary. While X-rays can sometimes be costly, with WMA’s dental checkup package, they are included at no additional charge.

There are different types of dental examinations: routine, comprehensive, and emergency. With us, you’ll receive a comprehensive exam, covering all the aspects mentioned above.

What should you discuss during your dental examination? Share your dental history and mention any sensitivity or pain in your teeth, gums, or jaw, as well as issues like gum bleeding or stained teeth. Inform your dentist about any medications you’re taking, if you’re pregnant, any allergies, or if you’ve previously used braces, Invisalign, or prosthetics.

X-Ray:

After the examination, taking X-rays is crucial as they provide a clearer view of the entire mouth, including the dental roots. There are various types of X-rays, and it’s important to note that only the minimum amount of safe radiation is used, making the process safe for both patients and practitioners.

The most common type is the panoramic X-ray, which produces a 2D image of the jaw, joints, and dental roots. This type is also safe for children. Other types of X-rays, such as CBCT or dental CT scans, are typically used for surgical procedures. If your dentist recommends a surgical tooth extraction, you may be required to undergo this type of X-ray for more detailed imaging.

Dental Cleaning:

Dental cleaning is a thorough procedure performed by a dentist in Mexico, rather than a dental hygienist. While assistants may support the dentist, all checkups and treatments are carried out exclusively by a licensed professional. Before starting, the dentist uses a small mirror to examine areas that may need extra attention, such as signs of gingivitis or tooth decay. The cleaning process begins with the removal of plaque and tartar buildup between the teeth.

Next, a professional-grade electric brush is used for deep cleaning, followed by flossing and a fluoride rinse. While the procedure is simple, some patients may experience sensitivity, which is common during dental visits.

Final Screening:

At the end of the checkup, a final evaluation, known as screening, is conducted. This quick five-minute assessment allows the dentist to provide personalized oral care tips, such as improved brushing techniques or the use of advanced dental tools. During this stage, recommendations for treatments like braces, Invisalign, wisdom tooth extractions, or other procedures may be given. Any additional treatments beyond the checkup will have separate costs.
