A day with our Patients – Figueroa’s Family

Meet our patients who traveled from Austin to Monterrey for a comprehensive health check-up, including additional treatments and tests to enhance their well-being.

Our patients:

Alfonso and Lea, both in their mid-sixties, reached out to us through a doctor who collaborates with our team at WMA.

Their process was simple. The patients had a consultation with one of our primary care physicians, where they discussed their medical history, health concerns, and specific requirements.

Our team prepared personalized quotes, comparing different hospitals and price ranges. Some quotes were more expensive due to the type of tests or the locations involved. We provided them with several options, detailing the specifications for each. For Alfonso and Lea, an ophthalmologist was a priority, so we also included various options for their eye appointment.

The entire process took about three weeks. By the third week, they arrived in Monterrey and had their first blood tests at a private clinic early in the morning.

Before their trip, we shared additional quotes covering accommodation and transportation. We also presented the patients with different flight options and hotel recommendations, offering special rates at hotels located in either San Pedro Garza García or near the city center. Although they chose to book their hotel independently, we can arrange all logistics for patients who prefer not to handle the details themselves.

Alfonso and Lea decided to rent a car to explore the city on their own, though we also offer private taxi services for those who prefer it.

Patients arrived in Monterrey on a Sunday and checked into their hotel. By Monday, they were at the clinic, ready for their appointments. The process is straightforward, with recommendations like fasting for eight hours before the tests.

By 11 a.m., they had completed the first part of their check-up, including blood tests, a PAP test, and an electrocardiogram—which was complimentary. Their doctor then suggested some additional imaging tests, which were quoted separately. These tests were done the next day and took about an hour, with results available a few hours later.

The third part of their consultation involved an ophthalmologist visit at an eye clinic. They preferred visiting various clinics instead of a single hospital, and all the locations were conveniently close to one another.

After their eye consultation, they had a few additional tests, which were completed two days later in just two hours. They received their results before leaving the clinic and returned to the ophthalmologist, who provided their prescription glasses—paid for separately—and concluded their consultation.

Earlier that day, they also met with their primary doctor to review all their results and receive additional recommendations for follow-up tests and future check-ups.

In total, Alfonso and Lea spent six days in Monterrey, with three of those days devoted to medical appointments, typically in the mornings. Their total time spent in appointments was about 8-9 hours, leaving plenty of time for leisure.

Throughout their visit, they were accompanied by a team member who ensured they were on time for all appointments and helped with any logistics or payments. While Alfonso and Lea didn’t require a translator, our team offers translation services if needed, as well as assistance throughout your stay.

Payments were conveniently handled through Zelle, their preferred method, and they returned safely to Austin. We were delighted to be part of their health journey!
